Maryland secured its first 2015 commit on Saturday in Linganore High OL E.J. Donahue…
Donahue Is Terps' First in 2015
Maryland has a nice start to its 2015 class, and it is thanks to one of the top offensive lineman in the region. Frederick (Md.) Linganore four-star offensive tackle E.J. Donahue made a non-binding verbal commitment to the Terps following Saturday's homecoming loss to Clemson. "Good for him," Linganore coach Richard Connor said. "He's a great a talent. He's a super talent. He measures out well, and is a fast and an aggressive kid." I knew he was leaning that way. "He said, ‘Coach, I love it down there. I love coaches and love going down there. I love everything about it.' It's great for him and great for Maryland. (Assistant) coach (Greg) Gattuso did a great job with him." Donahue is 6-foot-6, 310 pounds and will go to Maryland as an offensive tackle, but he is versatile. "That's that I love about him," Connor said. "He can play center, he can play guard or he can play tackle. He's that kid. He can be anywhere. He's got great feet. He's incredibly light on his feet. To swatch first step and stride length …he trains at a high level." Connor added that Donahue is also ultra competitive. "He s passionate about everything he does," Connor said. "It's not just football. It's weight lifting, it's volleyball in gym class, it's knockout. And he's so much better this year than he was last year." Maryland's Proximity to Linganore also played a role in the decision. "He's got a lot of friends," Connor said. "He's a pretty popular kid and now all his friends can go and watch him play. I'm glad for him."
