The OU wish list on offense for November sees a lot of names leave and sees a couple of key ones…
An A+ visit for Hayes
Junior college running back DeChavon Hayes is surfacing as one of the elite offensive recruits in the country. Oklahoma and Arizona State are the latest to offer Hayes and he will visit each school officially in November. This past weekend, the Lackawanna playmaker took his first official visit to check out the Kansas program. "It was great," said Hayes. "I liked my time out there. The coaches treated me well. It was incredible." "I got to hang with some of the players like Taylor Cox, Nick Harwell, and Tony Pierson," he added about his Jayhawks' visit. "We really connected. They told me a lot about Kansas that gave me a very positive mindset about the school." The coaches and the city also played a key role for Hayes. "I liked talking to Coach (Reggie) Mitchell," he told Scout. "He told me I could come in and play right away. Coach (Charlie) Weis is a caring coach. He cares for his players. He wants me to go there and said I can make an impact instantly. Coach (Rob) Ianello is a good man. He's my main recruiting coach. He's told me a lot about the school and he showed me around while I was there." "I just liked the city of Lawrence," Hayes continued. "I liked the college vibe out there and everyone supports the school. That vibe out there was nice." Hayes can be a dangerous weapon on offense for whatever college he chooses to attend and he gave Kansas the best grade possible. "It was an A+ visit," he admitted. "When I first showed up I wasn't sure what to expect. Once the visit got started and I was having a good time, it all felt right. It ended up being more than I expected. Kansas is definitely at the top. They are the only one at the top and they have the number one spot right now." "Depending on how my visits go, it can change, but they are definitely my favorite school right now."
