Donaldsonville (LA) 2015 three-star WR Jaquel Gant is overdue for his first offer, and it appears…
Gant taking trips
Jaquel Gant would love to leave Lafayette this weekend with his first offer in hand. "Coach Hud, the head coach, is recruiting me for UL," said the country's 54th-ranked junior wide receiver. "Stephen Sullivan and I will be going to the UL game together. "Arkansas is recruiting me, and Oklahoma State wants me to get out there as soon as possible, but because of the distance I might have to wait until my official visit." The 6-2, 187-pounder attended a recent LSU game. "I got a letter from Les Miles," he added. "The letter said they want me to be a part of their winning tradition and recognized that I have what it takes to be a Tiger. "They treat you good at LSU. I saw Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham - both players that I like. Alabama has talking to be lately. Coach Saban said he wants me, but that he's working on finishing with their 2014 class first." Miami is also sending regular mail to Gant, who reports a PR in the 4.55 to 4.56 range in the 40-yard-dash. "My season is going good," he said. "I had eight catches for 101 yards and a 40-yard touchdown last week against Berwick. The most I've had was119 yards receiving against Southern Lab." Donaldsonville has an all-important game coming up vs. Franklin. "It will determine if we go to the playoffs," Gant said. "We'll need to pass the ball well. I predict that our quarterback, (sophomore) Tyler Brown, will have a good night throwing the ball."
