Cameron Mackey is a sophomore for Citra (Fla.) North Marion High School that will have a chance to be a big time recruit when it’s his turn. Mackey, 5-foot-8, 160-pounds, plays wide receiver, running back and is a standout kick returner.
“Cameron is the most dynamic player on our team,” said Matt Johnson, North Marion’s coach. “He has scored touchdowns from every position this season and from just about everywhere on the field. He’s pretty special.”
If there’s one knock to Mackey it’s his height. Still, he should find a place at the next level.
“I think he will be a BCS guy,” Johnson said. “But everyone will question his size. But that kid right now is a player.
Miami, Georgia, Bethune-Cookman and Florida A&M have all shown early interest in Mackey. He’s a member of the class of 2016.
Jamie has been covering college football recruiting since 1992 and is entering his ninth year with Scout.com and FOXSportsNext. He’s currently a National Recruiting Analyst and Manager for the state of Florida. Jamie is also covering the NFL Draft for the network.
