The University of Cincinnati recently received a commitment from 2014 wide receiver Michael Boone…
Boone Reverses Field Heading North
A little over three weeks ago Glen St. Mary wide receiver Michael Boone, who was committed to Florida International at the time, received a scholarship offer from Cincinnati. The 5-foot-10 and 190-pound playmaker has had a change of heart since receiving the Bearcat offer and is now committed to Cincinnati and has been since the first week of November. Boone says the reasons for the change of heart was simple but that is was still hard to tell the FIU coaches of his plans because he had been committed to the Panthers for so long. "I like the way they've been recruiting me," said Boone of one of the reasons he switched his pledge to the Bearcats. The senior also see's a promising future for Cincinnati and for himself. "It's a good program and it's on the rise. I just feel like I fit in their program perfectly," continued Boone. I like it that the offense Cincinnati runs is similar to the one we run here at Baker County. And I like the coaches; they're super cool and work hard." While excited about the new opportunity the receiver says it was hard telling the FIU staff he had changed his mind. "It was very hard. I grew that connection with the coaches at FIU. However the opportunity came from Cincinnati I just had to what was best for me," said Boone. Based of his highlight tape Boone is a playmaker with the ball in his hands. He has good hands and does a great job of picking up yardage after the catch. Boone who also returns kicks and gets a lot of opportunities to get the ball in his hands on reverses demonstrates good vision in finding open field. The senior also does a good job of making a cut or changing directions and getting up field quickly. Please check back with Scout.com and Fox Sports Next for future updates on Michael Boone.
