A look back at the top ranked Midlands recruits from the 2013 signing class and how they have fared in their opening season in college...

A'Shawn Robinson - Alabama
HS National Ranking:

Rated as the top defensive tackle in the country, Robinson has played in all 10 games and earned two starts as a true freshman for Alabama. So far he has tallied 28 tackles and leads the team with five sacks, already proving his lofty status as an elite level recruit. He is the perfect type of defensive lineman for the Tide's three-man front. He can play inside or outside.

Ricky Seals-Jones - Texas A&M
HS National Ranking:

Seals-Jones played in two games pulling down three passes for 84 yards and a touchdown before going down with an injury which required surgery. He will miss the remainder of the season and could be in line to receive a medical red-shirt. The brief glimpses and the 28 yard per catch average show the big playmaking ability that made him the top-rated receiver in the country.

Robbie Rhodes - Baylor
HS National Ranking:

Baylor has been having a remarkable season, undefeated and rated No. 4 in the BCS poll. Rhodes has played in seven of the nine games and has started to gain momentum with each week. He has not yet found the endzone, but year to date he has hauled in nine passes for 153 yards. The fact that he was not red-shirted in a year the team is loaded with receivers suggests the coaches may have an idea he could be a three and done type of player.

Keith Ford - Oklahoma
HS National Ranking:

Ford has had a touch of freshman fumblitis for Oklahoma, but still saw action in all eight games before rolling an ankle forcing him to sit out the last two contests. He has not been a featured piece of the offense, but has rushed for 119 yards and one score in his debut season, passing up other high profile backs on the depth chart in the process. Could be the premiere back in the Sooners offense by the start of next season.

Ezekiel Elliott - Ohio State
HS National Ranking:

Making an early case that he might have been rated higher. He has looked extremely good on the touches he has received. He has already passed up a couple of five-star backs in his quest to replace Carlos Hyde in 2014. He has tallied 29 carries for 260 yards and has scored three total touchdowns. he has also made a name for himself on special teams, making big hits and big plays.

Dontre Wilson - Ohio State
HS National Ranking:

Elliott may be the feature back in waiting, but Wilson is not waiting on a opening spot to be featured. He is used in multiple ways in the Buckeyes offense and so far has racked up an impressive 388 total yards and scored three times. People often compare him to the Percy Harvin style in Urban Meyer's offense, a player who can stretch the defense and turn in highlight reel plays.

*Kent Perkins, Justin Manning and Mike Mitchell all were rated in the Top 50 as well, but have been red-shirted in 2013 or not been evaluated enough to thoroughly include in the report.
