A Look at Victor Evans

Victor Evans out of Skyline, TX., could be one of Ole Miss', if not the most important, recruit on their board this year as they are desperately looking for a speed rusher to come off of the edge. Help is on the way.

Victor Evans plays in arguably Texas' toughest District in their D1 5A Region. The 6' 3 1/2", 238-pound rush end has destroyed his opponents this season with a 5A best 17 sacks and 23 tackles for loss.

What you notice about the speed rusher who the Rebels won a furious recruiting battle over for the Longhorns is not only his speed off the end but how he stays in his gaps and finishes his tackles. The 2012 All-State selection arrives in a bad mood but rarely loses his gap responsibility and plays with a football savvy that is uncommon for a player who just turned 18 years old.

The Rebels lost C.J. Johnson for the season early in the year and return him for the next two years, but they are looking to add one to two more pieces to their pass rush and Victor fits the bill to a tee.
