Stars Set to Visit the Swamp
Head coach Will Muschamp and the rest of the Gator coaching staff will host numerous top tier recruits this weekend. Prospects from 2014, 2015 and 2016 will invade the Swamp this weekend to watch this weekend's contest between in-state arch rivals. In addition to the numerous unofficial visitors that are expected the Gator coaching staff will host nine official visitors. Of the nine official visitors this weekend the Gators welcome four who have previously committed to Florida. Quarterback Will Grier, tight end Cyontai Lewis, offensive linemen Travaris Dorsey and defensive end Taven Bryan. The five players who are uncommitted at this time making official visits this weekend are Nyles Morgan, Thomas Holley, Ryan Sousa, David Sharpe and Eric Lauderdale. Cyontai Lewis: "I really just want to enjoy the game and spend more time with the players and coaches." Eric Lauderdale: "I want to check out the facilities and the whole environment and to just enjoy myself really." Ryan Sousa: "I just want to be around the players and coaches and see the Swamp atmosphere in Gainesville." David Sharpe: "I want to watch this game and pretty much just have fun." The Recruiting File: Will Grier: Quarterback-6-foot-3, 200-pounds Davidson (NC) Davidson Day High School Travaris Dorsey: Offensive Guard-6-foot-3, 293-pounds Jacksonville (Fla) William M. Raines High School Cyontai Lewis: Tight End-6-foot-5, 215-pounds Alabaster (AL) Kingwood Christian School Taven Bryan: Defensive End-6-foot-5, 260-pounds Casper (WY) Natrona County High School Thomas Holley: Holley checks in from Brooklyn (NY) Abraham Lincoln high school at 6-foot-4, 300-pounds. Holley is the No. 14 ranked defensive tackle prospect. Holley is looking at Penn State, Notre Dame, Florida and Ohio State. Penn State is thought to be the front runner. Ryan Sousa: Sousa checks in from Orlando (Fla.) Lake Nona high school and is currently commited to Florida State. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound wide out is a three star wide out according to Scout.com. Sousa has been committed to Florida State for a while but has visited Kansas and has the Gators this weekend. Nyles Morgan: Morgan is a four star middle linebacker from Crete ( IL) Crete-Monee high school. The No. 4 ranked linebacker is 6-foot-3, 235-pounds. Keep an eye on Ole Miss. Eric Lauderdale: Lauderdale is a four star JuCo wide receiver. He is a 6-foot-2, 200-pound wide out from Mission Viejo (CA) Saddleback and has tremendous speed. He is wide open at this time. David Sharpe: Sharpe checks in from Jacksonville (Fla.) Providence high school. The 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive tackle is looking at Florida, Florida State, Tennessee and Georgia. The Gators are the front runner. In addition to these nine official visitors the Gators will host numerous top tier unofficial visitors this weekend. The 2014 class will be well represented with defensive end and five star Lorenzo Carter, cornerback Duke Dawson, defensive tackle Khairi Clark and tight end Elkanah Dillon. The stars come out in 2015. The 2015 class is loaded with talent and more than a few should be in Gainesville this weekend including defensive tackle CeCe Jefferson, linebacker Jeffery Holland, running back James Allen, athlete Deon Cain, linebacker Deamonte Jackson, running back T.J. Simmons and wide receiver Shawn Burgess-Becker. The 2016 looks very promising at this time with players such as defensive linemen Jordan Woods, quarterback Feleipe Franks, wide receiver Darnell Salomon and safety Antone Webster all scheduled to attend this weekend.
