Rodney Garner (Auburn defensive line coach) did not give up on Dontavius Russell despite the four-star defensive tackle being committed to Georgia.
Being relentless has paid off, sort of.
Russell did not flip to Auburn Sunday night, but he did open his recruitment back up.
"I have decommitted from Georgia," said Russell.
The quiet interior defensive lineman out of Carrollton, Ga. said the atmosphere at Auburn was "unreal" Saturday night.
He has not dismissed UGA from the race and he is not leaning towards Auburn. He now wants to see what options are out there.
"I have to make sure I make the right decision. It is not just Auburn and Georgia, but I want to see who all is still interested in me."
Russell has not thought about or scheduled an official visits yet.
The 6-foot-3, 300 pound senior is the No. 11 defensive tackle in the country.
