Massachusetts commit Dimitri Angelas, a 6-foot-5, 308-pound offensive lineman was offered a preferred walk-on spot by Wisconsin today when area recruiter Jeff Genyk visited the schools.
"I went to the office, met my high school coach and also the coach from Wisconsin. I said hi to him and after that, he talked to my coach about the school and how the campus is one of top rated college cities. Then they offered me a preferred walk on and gave examples of other great walk-ons that excelled there like J.J. Watt."
The Badgers said they would like him to visit Madison but he does not have any plans to do that.
"Right now, I'm just extremely honored a program like Wisconsin would consider me for a spot on their team and I want to leave it as that. I'm honored and feel very blessed to be given the opportunity."
And he remains firm on his pledge to the Minutemen.
"I'm still officially committed to UMass. I have no intentions to decommit, but I am honored by the opportunity Wisconsin has given me."
