East Carolina, Georgia Tech, Illinois, North Carolina State, Vanderbilt, and Virginia have offered Trevon McSwain.
A number of other schools are showing interest in the 6-foot-6, 225 pound rush end.
"I am hearing from Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee, Clemson, Duke, and some others. Things have picked up a lot in recruiting recently," said McSwain.
This 6-foot-6, 220 pound junior out of Buford (Ga.) Lanier is a new name to many, but expect to hear a lot more about him in the coming months.
He had nine sacks in 2013 and his name is just starting to get out there. Most coaches that stopped by his school the last two weeks did not leave before offering him.
"Coaches like my speed and how I am a coachable player. They always tell me to keep my grades up, that I need to add more weight, and things like that, but the thing I hear the most from coaches is how they like my speed. That is why I am getting the offers I think."
Of course he is thankful for each offer he has, but like most top athletes, McSwain wants more. There is one offer he really wants.
"Alabama is the school I really want an offer from. I used to live in Alabama (Birmingham until seven years old) before moving to Georgia, so I have seen Alabama have a lot of success. It would be the best day ever if I got an offer from them. I would not commit right away or anything, but it would be amazing to get that offer."
The Crimson Tide stand out to most prospects right now with their history and recent success under Nick Saban, but there are a couple other schools high on McSwain's list right now.
"I really like Virginia and North Carolina State right now," McSwain said. "They are both showing a lot of interest, they seem really focused on recruiting me, and I think I could play a lot at those schools. Those two stand out to me."
Outside of what McSwain listed on why he likes the Cavaliers and the Wolfpack, he also likes the distance from home. He is not looking to go to school too close to home.
"I kind of want to go away a little bit. I do not want to go too far, but I want to go away from home. I want to get some separation, be my own person, and just find that school away from where I am now."
