Montae Nicholson, a four-star safety from Monroeville (Pa.) Gateway, decided leaving home as best.
He ended his recruitment moments ago by announcing his commitment to Michigan State, over hometown Pittsburgh, Oregon, Florida State and Virginia Tech during a ceremony at this school.
“I have decided to play my college football at Michigan State University,” Nicholson said in making his decision.
Nicholson’s first visit was to Michigan State for an early season game against South Florida, and it made him rethink his recruitment.
“I was having dinner with the team and chatting it up and having fun with those guys, and the game was a lot more fun than I thought it would be,” Nicholson said after the visit. “It was more than I expected. I had so much fun out there, and I learned so much. Not just about Michigan State, but from football as well that I can bring back to (Gateway) offensively and defensively.”
