Cincinnati has dipped into the California JUCO ranks to grab Glendale linebacker Marcus Tappan, who has signed with the Bearcats. Tappan will report to Cincinnati in January to begin classes.

Marcus Tappan recently completed an impressive season at Glendale Junior College, and the freshman linebacker is ready to head to the next level.

"I have signed with Cincinnati, and will be reporting for classes in January," the 6-foot-2, 235-pound, athlete stated. "Coach (Tommy) Tuberville and his staff were great to me, and I'm excited to play for them."

"They plan on starting me at middle linebacker, but they said I could end up playing any of the three linebacker spots," he added. "Everybody wants to play where they're wanted, and Coach Tuberville showed me he wanted me the most. They are a winning program, and I'm looking forward to seeing them in their bowl game."

Tappan is the number-25 commit for Cincinnati in the 2014 recruiting class. He played scholastically for Los Angeles La Salle.
