After leading Bowling Green to a third straight 5-A championship, Nacarius Fant finished off his high school career by being named Kentucky’s Mr. Football.
Fant was a dominating prospect from the wide receiver position, amassing 83 catches for 1699 yards and 23 touchdowns as a senior.
The Western Kentucky commit won the award over three other great players, Drew Barker, Matthew Elam and Scott Daniel. Fant was humbled to be named Mr. Football over that trio of prospects.
“It’s just an awesome honor with the finalists who were in the running and me coming out with it,” Fant said.
“Two of them are in the Army All-American game and (Scott Daniel) is a good player. It shows the talent of the state of Kentucky. It takes hard work. I’ve put in a lot and it’s paying off,” Fant said.
Fant’s career numbers are 227 catches for 4473 yards and 52 touchdowns. He is among the top five in state history in all three categories.
