ORLANDO, Fla. — After less than two months as a UCLA commitment, a coaching change allowed a dream to come true as John Plattenburg altered his verbal commitment to now read Southern California next to his name.

What USC is getting is a Scout four-star prospect and the No. 21 cornerback in the nation. He entered his final season on the prep level as the No. 30-ranked player in the Lone Star State's 2014 class.

After competing at The Opening in July and an impressive senior campaign at Lamar (Texas) High School, Plattenburg landed on the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl roster.
