One of the first orders of business for Charlie Strong is getting on the phone with recruits. The newly named head coach of the University of Texas found time earlier today to do just that.

Defensive tackle Chris Nelson had a chance to contact Texas head coach Charlie Strong earlier this evening. Nelson received some very good news from the Longhorn head coach.

"Everything went great," Chris Nelson said. "I just got an offer and I will take my official visit on January 24th."

Nelson has been a Louisville commitment but with the coaching change will open things back up with just about one month before National Signing Day.

"I am ready to take that visit to Texas," Nelson said. "I am about to open things back up but I know my parents will be excited about this one."

Nelson is a very athletic big man with great feet and could play on either side of the ball at the next level. He checks in at 6-foot-3, 280-pounds from Lakeland (Fla.) Victory Christian Academy.
