Longhorns became the latest team to offer Cincinnati Winton Woods junior George Brown
, and the 6-foot-6, 255-pound, heard the news directly from Charlie Strong Thursday evening.
"I was just offered by Texas," Brown stated. "This is a big offer for me, and it really means a lot to me. Coming from a school like Texas, and a coach like Charlie Strong means so much to me and my family."
"I had visited Coach Strong at Louisville a couple times after he offered me there, and I really like the man a lot," he added. "I found out tonight when I was told to call Coach Strong tonight. He said he still wants me, because I'm a good player, and the offer still stands at Texas."
"It made me feel real good to hear that, I have to admit, and like I said it's a really big offer to me," he continued.
Brown, who holds over 40 offers, has already taken several unofficial visits to date, including schools like Michigan State, Clemson, Georgia, Florida and others.
Visits are still coming in the near future, and USC and UCLA are scheduled for the weekend of January 16-18. A Texas visit could also be occurring shortly.
"I would love to visit Texas, and I just said that to my dad tonight," Brown admitted. "I would also like to see Baylor and Texas A&M, and Baylor has offered me already."
Scout.com will continue to track Brown throughout the recruiting process, and will update next week's visits to USC and UCLA after they occur.
It's getting difficult to impress a prospect with over 40 offers, but Charlie Strong certainly impressed Cincinnati Winton Woods junior offensive lineman George Brown Thursday evening. Texas is the latest school to offer Brown.
The George Brown offer train keeps on rolling.
