Head coach Charlie Strong and the rest of the Texas Longhorn staff are eagerly anticipating their first official visit weekend in Austin. Strong and company will have a minimum of seven official visitors in this weekend starting with Corey Avery.
Corey Avery checks in at 5-foot-10, 185-pounds. The Dallas (TX) David W. Carter high school standout has offers from Baylor, Nebraska, Ohio State, Texas Tech and West Virginia to name a few. He will take an official visit to Austin this weekend, Nebraska on 1/24 and Kansas 1/31.
One of the hottest recruits over the last month has been defensive tackle Poona Ford. He is a four star standout from Hilton Head Island (SC) checking in at 6-foot-1, 280-pounds. Ford and his family will be in Austin this weekend, Oregon on the 24th and Missouri on the 31st.
Jermaine Roberts will make his official visit to Texas this weekend. The 5-foot-9, 160-pound corner has 4.45 speed and is from New Orleans (LA) St. Augustine high school. Roberts had offers from Alabama, Georgia Tech, LSU, Michigan, Mississippi and Oklahoma to name a few before deciding to commit to Texas back in April.
Four star wide receiver Emanuel Porter will also be in town this weekend to meet the new coaching staff. Porter is a 6-foot-3, 190-pound wide out from Dallas (TX) Lincoln high school and announced his intentions this past summer.
Joining Porter this weekend will be defensive end Sione Teuhema. The three star defensive end/linebacker is from Keller (TX) and ranks as the No 42 defensive end in the country.
Another defensive standout who will make his official visit to Austin this weekend is Derick Roberson. At 6-foot-4, 225-pounds Roberson is the No 9 ranked defensive end prospect in America. He is from San Antonio (TX) William J. Brennan high school.
Running back Donald Catalon will be joining his future teammates in Austin this weekend. The 5-foot-11, 200-pound back checks in from Houston (TX) Eisenhower high school and is also currently committed to Texas.
