The Midlands boasts a solid 52 prospects in the Scout 300.
No one made the move like Myles Garrett did.
"The biggest mover in the region was Myles Garrett, who jumped from the No. 24 prospect in the country to No. 5," said national recruiting analyst Greg Powers.
"Garrett showed at the Under Armour Game that he belonged in the discussion as one of the top rated players in the country. He is an explosive edge player with tremendous speed and quicks."
But defensive backs were the most loaded group in the region.
"The Midlands is loaded with great defensive backs in this class and many schools in and out of the region are stocking their coffers with that talent."
"An interesting point is that the three top rated cornerbacks; Tony Bown (Alabama), Edward Paris (LSU) and Arrion Springs (Oregon) are all leaving the region, as is the top rated safety; Jamal Adams (LSU)," said Powers.
