Navarre (Fla.) High School defensive line prospect Christian Gill made his decision about his future college home after making a visit to Coastal Carolina this past weekend. Gill who is still actively being recruited by Wake Forest and Marshall committed to the Chanticleer’s who compete in the FCS’s Big South Conference.
Gill, who is 6-foot-4 and 250-pounds, says he is happy to have his decision behind him.
“I committed to Coastal Carolina,” said an excited Gill. “It is definitely a relief. I definitely think I found a home in Myrtle Beach.
The senior, who had over 100 tackles this season, also enjoyed getting a chance to know his future teammates.
“I really bonded with the guys when I got up there. I really like the facilities. The place just seemed nice to me. I really like Coastal a lot,” explained Gill.
The Chanticleers plan to play Gill, who played defensive end, defensive tackle and tight end in high school, inside on the defensive line in college.
“They want me to play interior defensive line whether it’s defensive tackle or nose guard, so I will either be a three-technique or a one-technique,” said Gill of his future college position.
While Gill seems all but headed to the state of South Carolina for college, he still has one North Carolina school taking a hard look at him that has yet to offer.
“I’ve still got Wake Forest recruiting me. They are coming to my house on the 21st of January. We are going to meet and catch up. I am not sure if I will take an official visit to Wake or not,” said Gill of the Demon Deacons interest.
