2014 Recruiter of the Year

Georgia's Bryan McClendon is's National Recruiter of the Year...

On Signing Day, head coaches get to talk to the media, get to take most (if not all) of the credit for putting together their class and are judged by how their class turns out.

And while Mark Richt did his share of interviews on Signing Day, much of Georgia's efforts on the recruiting trail were a result of the effort of Bryan McClendon.

With the Bulldogs landing of Lorenzo Carter, that was the deal-sealer for McClendon.

McClendon was the lead recruiter for Sony Michel, Nick Chubb, Kendall Baker, Keyon Brown, Isaiah Wynn, Gilbert Johnson, Kendall Gant, and Shattle Fenteng.

He has played a role in others as well and was the lead recruiter for Carter, a five-star defensive end, ranked No. 5 nationally.

It was for that effort that McClendon is named as 2014 Recruiter of the Year.

Aside from Carter and Michel, the Bulldogs signed Jeb Blazevich, the No. 4 tight end nationally and Jacob Park, the 8th ranked quarterback in the country.

National analysts Greg Biggins, Brian Dohn, Brandon Huffman, Jamie Newberg, Greg Powers, Chad Simmons and Allen Trieu contributed to this report. Recommended Stories
