I thought last spring and summer that Lauderdale Lakes (Fla.) Boyd Anderson defensive back Derrick Tindal was one of the top cornerbacks I saw during the off-season. I could never understand why things just never took off for Tindal.
That is until now. According to his head coach, Wayne Blair, Tindal has a few more weeks to squeeze in visits.
“He’s at Wisconsin right now,” Blair said. “A big reason for that is Sojoun [Shelton]. He’s from down here. Derrick will visit South Carolina next week. They are on his and [Chris] Lammons and could take the first one that commits between the two. They are different type of players so that’s interesting. On January 31st he will go to Louisville or TCU.”
According to Blair all of those schools have offered Tindal. And this is all on the heels of Tindal having a fine senior season.
“Derrick was awesome for us,” Blair said. “He played wide receiver and cornerback. He had 450 plus receiving yards, returned three punts and four kickoffs for touchdowns.”
Tindal, 5-foot-11, 165-pounds, is a three-star prospect. He has already made official visits to Indiana and Marshall.
