Sophomore Starts Recruiting Process
Despite the weather, Lebanon (Ohio) sophomore linebacker Jango Glackin made the trip to Illinois for a Junioe Day visit to get an early look at the Big Ten program. "I showed up for the Illinois Junior Day and thought it was all pretty neat," said Glackin. "The day was long, but they showed us a lot about their program and I was totally impressed." Glackin knows he's getting an early start to the recruiting process, however, he hopes getting a chance to connect with coaches like those at Illinois helps his kick start his recruitment. From the sound of it, Tim Beckman's coaching staff made a great early impression. "I remember how nice I felt the coaches were," he said. "Coach (Alex) Golesh took his time to talk with me and I appreciate him doing that with me being only a sophomore. He said he's going to visit my school in the next couple of weeks in at some point in May." What else stood out during his visit with the Illini? "Their facilities are great," he said. "They took the time to show us everything and the weight room is nice and the stadium great. You can see they take a lot of pride in their facilities and have a lot of pride in their program being all about family. "You could also see all the players there seemed to like each other and all of them seem to get along." Glackin hopes to made a few more visits in the coming months as he gets ready to his the combine and camp season to show the growth he's making off the field having added around 10-pounds since the end of the season while improving his speed.
