They are led by a dynamic athlete in Treon Harris. Harris could play a variety of positions at the next level but has his sights set on quarterback. He made vast improvement at this position over his final two seasons. Harris has been a long time commitment to Florida State but has made official visits to Florida and Auburn over the last two weekends. He will be at Miami this weekend.
That was confirmed by his father and head coach Tim "Ice" Harris. They have strong ties to the Hurricane program.
The Tigers and Gators are an interesting twist to the Harris recruitment. Why? Because his style and skill set are well suited for Gus Malzahn's offense, as well as the new spread attack that the Gators will run in Gainesville. Keep an eye on this one for sure.
The state's top defensive end is Chad Thomas from Booker T. Washington. He committed to Miami months ago. Still, he made an official visit to Florida State last weekend and will be at Alabama this weekend. Coach Harris confirmed his trip to Tuscaloosa.
Finally, Demetrius Jackson stars at the other defensive end spot for Booker T. Washington. Like Thomas, he has been a long time commitment to the Hurricanes. But he tripped to Arkansas last week and will be at Texas this weekend. Remember, former Miami head coach Randy Shannon is now an assistant for the Razorbacks. He has helped that program recruit Dade County and they have landed three recruits from the city of Miami alone this week.
All of the Booker T. Washington prospects will make their official announcements and sign on national signing day from the high school beginning at 9 a.m.
Well these players stick with their commitments or flip elsewhere?
"They are just going through the process," Harris said.
