Kendall Johnson visited Nevada last week, and he quickly took a liking to the school.
"I committed on the visit," he said. "The coaches also came to my house last week. I felt real comfortable with them. They didn't put a lot of pressure on me.
"They want me to play defensive back, which is cool with me, because I like playing corner. I intercepted three passes this year (despite taking the bulk of his snaps on offense)."
Johnson was hosted by another defensive back, Tere' Calloway.
"I like the way the program is headed," Johnson said, "so I committed during the visit. The coaches were really excited because they didn't expect me to commit that day.
They knew my mom played a big role in my recruitment, and she wasn't there. We called her on the phone, though, and she said for me to do what I think is best."
Johnson led a 10-2 St. Thomas More team in receiving in 2013, hauling in 35 catches for 833 yards and 11 touchdowns. He averaged 23.8 yards per catch while facing stout competition such as Calvary Baptist, Evangel Christian and Teurlings Catholic.
