"It was cool," Evans said. "To be honest I did not want to go back home. I bonded with the players and recruits that are coming in with me. We are ready to take over do great things up there."

What was's #46 rated defensive end hoping to accomplish on this trip?

"I just wanted to come in and build a bond with my team and get a better feel for the surroundings and people. I loved everything about it up there. I am just ready to get up there and play."

Which recruits did he get a chance to hang out with?

Victor Evans
"I hung out with C.J. and A.J. (Calvin Moore/Alvin Moore). We kicked it all weekend. Tyler Putman and DeMarquis Gates too. I know Gates is ready to make a difference too. He is ready to come in and make an impact. D.G. is hungry because he had to miss his senior season. Tyler too. We are all hungry."

What stood out about the trip over everything else?

"The people in the neighborhoods. Just the everyday people in the community. Everyone is so laid back in Oxford. The coaches care about you too. They want you to succeed on the field and in the classroom. I just like the overall environment around Ole Miss."

Evans hit a growth spurt in the past six months since he committed.

"I grew about an inch and half this year. I checked in at 6' 4", 221 on my visit."

Victor watched some film with his future position coach and family while on the visit.

"We watched a lot of film. Coach (Chris) Kiffin's kids and wife and I all watched film together. It is like one family over there. That is what I love about it. They want to bring me in on third downs and get after the passer. I will go in and have fun and rush the passer. When I catch on to the system my role will increase, but they want me to get after the passer on third downs next season. That is the first step."

The 5A All-State selection spoke with Rebel head coach Hugh Freeze before leaving.

"We just talked about how solid I have always been. He thanked me for always staying true to my word. Texas and Oklahoma State have been trying to get me up there for a visit, but I do not even answer their calls. I did not want anybody bothering me and trying to confuse me. Coach Freeze just told me that I was going to be a special ball player for him and he couldn't wait to get me on campus in June."
