FRISCO, Texas -- Scout.com finalizes its 2014 positional rankings...

1. Hoza Scott

Nat'l Rating: 101
Pos. Rating: 8
Location: La Porte,Texas
High School: La Porte HS
Size: 6'3|225
Recruiting: Uncommitted

The number one guy on the list has some hurdles to overcome before he gets his college career on track. He looked like he was on the right track with an early start in JuCo, but left the program after one day. Itwill be interesting to see where he ends up from this pint. Was originally committed to Texas A&M.

2. Otaro Alaka

Nat'l Rating: 180
Pos. Rating: 15
Location: Houston,Texas
High School: Cypress Falls HS
Size: 6'3|210
Recruiting: Committed to Texas A&M

Alaka is the perfect new age type of backer that many college programs covet. He is rangy and quick to the football and plays much bigger than his listed HT/WT. He is a sound tackler and will wrap up so that backs can not escape his grasp.

3. Josh Walker

Nat'l Rating: 182
Pos. Rating: 16
Location: Gilmer,Texas
High School: Gilmer HS
Size: 6'0|215
Recruiting: Committed to Texas A&M

On defense, Gilmer runs a three man front on the defensive line, but they run Walker up to the line on one side or the other almost playing like a stand up defensive end. Teams try hard to keep the flow of the game away from his side of the field, but he still finds a way to make big plays. He is a pounder, a grinder, a throw-back type of athlete. The kid who gets picked first when you line them up on the playground. He takes no plays off.

4. Edwin Freeman

Nat'l Rating: 234
Pos. Rating: 21
Location: Arlington,Texas
High School: Bowie HS
Size: 6'2|210
Recruiting: Committed to Texas

Has experience playing defensive back and some schools were recruiting him at safety early on, but as he has continued to grow and get bigger he has evolved in to a linebacker and that is where he played as a junior. He has good speed and can run and cover. He is also good at tracking down speedy ball carriers in the open field. He gets to the ball very quickly. He moves very well from side-to-side. He covers a lot of ground, and he's a hitter.

5. Gyasi Akem

Nat'l Rating: 276
Pos. Rating: 24
Location: Broken Arrow,Oklahoma
High School: Broken Arrow HS
Size: 6'1|220
Recruiting: Committed to Oklahoma State

Akem is a great athlete playing defense, but his best days are still ahead of him, as he continues to develop his technique and skills as a backer. He has great size and length and the true ability to run and cover. he is one of the Top 10 100-meter runners in the state, which speaks of that ability. His good coming off the edge and applying pressures. Uses his hands well to play off of blocks and make tackles.

The Next Five:
6. Sione Teuhema
7. Jimmie Swain
8. T'Kevian Rockwell
9. Elijah Lee
10. James David
