1. Jerrod Heard

Nat'l Rating: 37
Pos. Rating: 2
Location: Denton,Texas
High School: Guyer HS
Size: 6'2.5|190
Recruiting: Committed to Texas

A quarterback who leads with a calm, cool effectiveness. He is highly efficient as a thrower completing at an above average %. He is strong in all phases, but excels on the deep ball, where he shows great touch and the ability to find the open receiver. He has a good arm, but may be even more lethal as a runner. He is smart with his reads and his ability to see a step ahead allows him to make the right cuts and find open spaces in the defense.

2. David Cornwell

Nat'l Rating: 152
Pos. Rating: 7
Location: Norman,Oklahoma
High School: Norman Hs North
Size: 6'5|230
Recruiting: Committed to Alabama

Big-bodied quarterback, who moves very well for a player his size. he is not a speed demon, but shows good feet in the pocket, the ability to throw on the run and can also pull the ball down and get up the field. He has a very strong arm, which could be described to have easy power. He can get a lot of zip on the ball without a lot of effort from his entire body. He could play with some more consistency, but can definitely make the throws.

3. Foster Sawyer

Nat'l Rating: 213
Pos. Rating: 13
Location: Fort Worth,Texas
High School: All Saints' Episcopal School
Size: 6'5|215
Recruiting: Committed to TCU

A calm, cool character in the pocket. He has a great frame and has the height to see over the top of the biggest offensive line. His calm demeanor allows him to make sound reads and accurate throws. He is not a big-time runner, but is able to move around in the pocket to buy time and he also throws decently while on the run. Still, he is most dangerous when he has the time to set his feet and throw. Nice blend of skills and upside.

4. Justice Hansen

Nat'l Rating: 261
Pos. Rating: 16
Location: Edmond,Oklahoma
High School: Santa Fe HS
Size: 6'3|190
Recruiting: Committed to Oklahoma

Has great pocket presence. He will step up in the pocket and deliver a very accurate and catchable ball. He is also a threat on the ground. While he is not a blazer he is smart with the football and is a determined runner. He shows the ability to move in the pocket and set up quickly to get the ball down the field. He does not panic while under pressure. Has good velocity on his throws and seems to grasp the concept of throwing with touch.

5. Patrick Mahomes

Nat'l Rating: 273
Pos. Rating: 20
Location: Whitehouse,Texas
High School: Whitehouse HS
Size: 6'2|200
Recruiting: Committed to Texas Tech

Tremendous athlete, who excels in multiple sports in high schools and is also considered as an elite baseball prospect. The term athlete makes many think he is a running QB, but he is more of a passer who uses his athleticism to buy time and/or space in the pocket to make plays down the field. He has superior field vision and will find the open man, completing a high percentage of his passes. Technique will have to be re-perfected each season.

The Next Five:
6. Rafe Peavey
7. Grayson Muehlstein
8. David Blough
9. Ronald Monroe
10. Darius Lee-Campbell
