Bellevue (Wash.) safety Budda Baker will be able to just make a quick drive across the 520 bridge for college.
The four-star prospect, who's the No. 1 ranked prospect in the Northwest in the 2014 class, committed to Washington on KING5 on Tuesday evening.
"I'll be close to my family and they'll be able to see my play," said Baker. "It's a true blessing."
Baker had committed to Oregon in December, seemingly closing the book on his recruitment.
But he opened it up middle of January and took a visit to Washington that same weekend.
The following weekend, he visited UCLA.
But the Huskies, the hometown team, won him over and Baker will sign with the Huskies on Wednesday.
It's the first time since the 2011 class that the Huskies landed the No. 1 player in the state and gives Chris Petersen a huge bump in his first recruiting class with the Huskies.
