Petaluma (Calif.) Casa Grande quarterback JaJuan Lawson is headed to the Mountain West.
Lawson announced on Signing Day that he's headed to New Mexico.
"It came down to New Mexico, Boise State and BYU," said Casa Grande head coach Trent Herzog. "Both Boise State and BYU came in late and it was hard for him to build a solid relationship."
But his relationship with the New Mexico coaches won out.
"He has had a great relationship with New Mexico since summer, he really enjoyed his official visit to Albuquerque, and really likes the fit of the offense and liked the coaches," said Herzog. "He has a good relationship with Bob Davie."
Lawson is one of two Casa Grande players to sign on Wednesday, with teammate John Porchivina signing with Cal.
