Jackrabbit two-way standout Juju Smith announced moments ago on ESPNU that he’ll play his college ball at USC.
Smith had narrowed his choices to Notre Dame, Oregon, UCLA and USC but the Trojans and Ducks had been the front-runners for some time.
He officially visited the Ducks, Irish and Trojans along with Alabama and Ohio State and unofficially visited UCLA.
Smith is a huge pickup as he’s the nation’s No. 2 ranked safety and the No. 10 overall prospect nationally. He’s a potential impact player on either side of the ball as he’s also a talented receiver and could actually start out his career on the offensive side of the ball.
Smith shows good range as a safety with the ability to come up and play the run as well as the pass. At receiver, he has excellent body control and uses his size and athleticism to jump over smaller defensive backs.
