Scout.com National Analyst Greg Powers weighs in with his thoughts on the TCU class now that all of the signatures are in on National Signing Day (NSD)...

TOP OFFENSE

Foster Sawyer and Grayson Muehlstein will battle it out for the starting quarterback job and either could end up as the top guy, but Shaun Nixon will likely fit in to the future of the TCU offense under guidance of Doug Meachem like a glove. He is very explosive, catches the ball well out of the backfield, and has become stronger with each year.

TOP DEFENSE

Junior college transfer Kenny Iloka will fit this bill. He is a hard-hitter and after finally watching his film I can see that he will likely take a swift path to Big 12 stardom. He is a heat guided missile that is relentless once he hones in on the ball. Fun to watch.

INSTANT IMPACT

Signing day brought good news to the defense as junior college transfer Vin Ascolese (College of the Sequoias) inked and he is the type of player who can come in right away and make a difference. He will add depth and push for a starting spot as soon as he hits campus. He originally inked with Arkansas out of high school, but will now be bringing his talents to the Big 12.

BIG MISS

The Horned Frogs came really close to landing five-star offensive lineman Braden Smith, but a late push from Auburn landed him the SEC. He would have been the top rated recruit that TCU has ever landed in Scout.com history.

SLEEPER

Brenham offensive lineman Austin Schlottmann, a 6-foot-6, 280-pounder is one of the strongest players inking his name on a letter of intent in the conference. Because he is a leader, smart and technically sound he should have the chance to see the field early as well, because he has the attributes physically in place to make it happen.
