Detroit Consortium's Cameron Lewis was an All-State selection as a junior and the 6-foot, 170-pound prospect has now been rewarded with his first offer from Western Michigan.
"It feels pretty good actually," he said. "They offered me as a DB. They want me to play corner."
A versatile prospect, Lewis is being looked at by some schools as a wide receiver, but his length and speed are attractive in the secondary.
A few other schools besides the Broncos have shown interest.
"Central Michigan a little bit and a little bit of interest from Tennessee," he reported.
But the Broncos were first to offer and Lewis says he almost expected them to be.
"It didn't really surprise me because they had made a couple trips to the school the past couple months, so it wasn't a big surprise, but when it came, I was happy about it."
Lewis visits Friday and hopes to see more of a campus he has become familiar with.
"The atmosphere is great up there. I'm really going to look at Western because my brother goes there. He's a junior now so I've been going up there for the last three years and I have a good feel. I like the coaches and the coaches like me."
