How would a Florida Top 100 look if you combined the classes of 2014, 2015 and 2016? Here's my…
When he told me at this time last year that 2015 quarterback Dwayne Lawson would be his finest signal caller ever I was kind of surprised. One of my teammates back in high school was Browning Nagle. He turned out to be pretty good. Garcia has also coached Jarred Fayson, who back in the day a few years ago was a pretty electric quarterback.
Garcia was dead on and even said that Lawson would become a national recruit. That's exactly what has happened over the past few weeks and months, as teams from across the country have offered him a scholarship.
"Maryland, Ohio State Tennessee, Miami, Florida, North Carolina, USF, UCF, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and Indiana have all offered," Garcia said. "Florida State is about the only team around here that is not recruiting him but I am told that they are not taking a quarterback.
"I do know this, Dwayne ain't done yet."
Lawson, 6-foot-5, 212-pounds, is also a track star and a very good high jumper. He just jumped 6-foot-4 in their opening meet yesterday.
"Dwayne has a great game already and his mechanics are there," Garcia said. "Right now is hard because he's sharing time between jumping, throwing, lifting and conditioning."
Lawson has been to junior days already to both Florida and Miami. Georgia is very close to offering as are some other schools.
