Notre Dame moves on Whitehead
Jordan Whitehead admittedly doesn't know much about Notre Dame, but any offer is a good one, and the Monaca (Pa.) Central Valley four-star corner is looking forward to learning more about the program. His interest was piqued Thursday night, when Fighting Irish offensive line coach Harry Hiestand took a call from the junior. He later offered him, making Notre Dame the 12th program to offer the 5-foot-10, 170 pound junior. "It was really out of the blue," Whitehead said. "[Central Valley head coach Mary Lyons] texted me and said to call Coach Hiestand, and after we talked for a little, he offered me." First impressions can be everything in the world of recruiting, and Whitehead said Hiestand made a good one. "He was saying they offered me because I'm an all-around guy, my personality, and my grades," Whitehead said. "He said he thinks I'm a guy that would fit their program. "He made a good impression. He seemed like a straight forward guy, and I just appreciate him calling me and offering a scholarship." The Fighting Irish have stayed busy in the Keystone State under Hiestand's guide, sending out offers to Philadelphia (Pa.) St. Joe's Prep corner John Reid and Warrington (Pa.) Central Bucks South running back Josh Adams. The program is also keeping an eye on four-star Harrisburg (Pa.) Bishop McDevitt back Andre Robinson. As for Whitehead, he's just thrilled one more program is interested in him at the next level. "I really don't know too much about them, but I know they're a good program," Whitehead said. "I'm just excited to have more offers and more programs to choose from."
