The Alabama Crimson Tide has recently sent out more than half a dozen running back offers across the country, and three of those have gone to high-profile backs in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
Alabama's first DFW running back offer of the past week went to McKinney North's Ronald Jones on Feb. 17.
The 6-foot, 185-pound Jones has reached double-digit offers from plenty of big-name programs after a monster junior season that included 2,406 rushing yards and 39 touchdowns. He's a slashing back who can hit the home run. Jones is ranked 17th in Scout.com's national running backs rankings.
The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder is an all-purpose back prospect with speed and agility who thrives in a spread offense, according to Powers. Stevenson, who had 2,020 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns while catching 16 passes for 307 yards and two scores in 2013, is No. 21 in Scout.com's national running back rankings.
Plano West's Sotonye Jamabo, who is No. 1 nationally in Scout.com's 2015 running back rankings, got his Alabama offer Feb. 20.
Jamabo is a big-bodied back standing at 6-foot-3 and 200-plus pounds, but he's a pretty smooth runner for such a burly ball carrier. Jamabo, who ran for almost 2,800 yards and 34 touchdowns during the past two seasons, holds double-digit offers.
Alabama has offered 11 of the top 13 running backs in Scout.com's 2015 rankings, including Prichard (Al.) Vigor's DeSherrius Flowers, who is committed to the Crimson Tide.
