Receivers and defensive linemen from DFW were in high demand this past week with four players from each position receiving new offers. Next positionally was the running back spot, which saw three different players receive Alabama offers.
Here's a recap of the week's action on the offer front:
Taaj Bakari, 2015 DT, Mansfield Legacy -- HornedFrogBlitz.com's Jeremy Clark reported Feb. 18 that the 6-foot-2, 287-pound Bakari picked up an offer from Oklahoma State, which he visited for junior day Sunday. Bakari added a Colorado offer this past Thursday as he became 1 of 6 players the Buffaloes offered in DFW during the week.
Akilian Butler, 2015 WR, West Mesquite -- the athletic pass-catcher Butler picked up a Colorado offer, making him the only offensive player of the Buffaloes' six DFW offers of the week. CU joins Clemson on Butler's offer list.
Josh Butler, 2015 CB, West Mesquite -- the physical 5-foot-10, 163-pound cover man received an offer from Oregon State on Thursday, pushing his offer total to almost double figures.
Darrion Daniels, 2015 DT, Dallas Bishop Dunne -- the big-framed interior defender was one of the five defensive offers for Colorado in the DFW area. Daniels' offer list is well into double digits.
Deshon Elliott, 2015 S, Rockwall-Heath -- another Colorado offer went to the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Elliott, who reeled in his third SEC offer on the same day (Friday) when Ole Miss offered him.
Jalen Guyton, 2015 WR, Allen -- the 6-foot-1, 185-pound pass-catcher got two big offers this week, according to Allen assistant coach Jeff Fleener, who tweeted Guyton's Notre Dame offer Feb. 17 and Oklahoma offer Feb. 19.
Sotonye Jamabo, 2015 RB, Plano West -- Scout.com's No. 1 running back in the 2015 class was 1 of 3 DFW backs to pick up an Alabama offer during the past week.
Ronald Jones, 2015 RB, McKinney North -- The 6-foot, 185-pound Jones picked up a Feb. 17 offer from Alabama, then a Feb. 18 offer from Minnesota. His offer list has reached double digits. Scout.com ranks him as the No. 17 running back in the 2015 class.
James Lockhart, 2015 DE, Ennis -- one of the state's top defensive prospects was one of the aforementioned six players to get an offer from Colorado, which offered him Friday. Lockhart's offer list is into the teens.
DaMarkus Lodge, 2015 WR, Cedar Hill -- the playmaking 6-foot-2, 185-pounder was 1 of 2 receivers from the region to get three offers this past week. Lodge hauled in offers from Ole Miss (Feb. 18), Cal (Feb. 18), and Washington (Feb. 19).
Richard Moore, 2015 LB, Cedar Hill -- Moore got two offers during the week, hearing from Missouri and Colorado on Friday to put him a couple of offers away from double digits.
Ryan Newsome, 2015 WR, Aledo -- Newsome's offer list continues to just get bigger and bigger. He joined Lodge as the two pass-catchers to get three offers this past week, picking up offers from Kansas State and Cal on Tuesday before Texas offered him during his junior day visit Saturday in Austin.
Charles Omenihu, 2015 DE, Rowlett -- the 6-foot-4, 220-pound pass-rusher entered the week with a few offers, including one FBS offer from Northwestern. He got his second Saturday at Texas' junior day in Austin.
Kaden Smith, 2016 TE, Flower Mound Marcus -- the fourth big offer arrived for the young 6-foot-5, 225-pounder, who was the only 2016 prospect that Texas offered at Saturday's junior day.
Jordan Stevenson, 2015 RB, Dallas South Oak Cliff -- the only player on this list that has already committed (Texas), Stevenson was the third DFW running back to get the aforementioned Alabama offer, as reported by Scout.com national analyst Greg Powers on Wednesday.
