Kahlil Haughton Visits Texas

Kahlil Haughton checks in from Waco (TX) Midway high school. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound defensive back was on had this past weekend to take part in the second Texas junior day under new head coach Charlie Strong.

Kahlil Haughton visited the University of Texas this past weekend and came away thoroughly impressed.

"I really liked Texas," Kahlil Haughton said. "I really liked coach [Charlie] Strong and the coaching staff a lot. They strive so much off the field as much as they do on the field."

After this weekend's trip the Longhorns have moved near the top of the list for Haughton and his family.

"The program is great," Haughton said. "I think they'll do great with the new coaching staff. They are confident and know what they're doing and have so much passion to win and make us into better men. I definitely loved how much passion they had for the game and how much they want to make us and the program better. Right now I would say Texas is on the higher end of the list."

What does defensive coordinator Vance Bedford see in Haughton? The 6-foot-2 rangy defender breaks down his game.

"I would say I play fast and physical," Haughton said. "I have the speed, agility, and the hips of a corner, so not only can I make breaks on the ball and play man coverage well, but I can also come down hill and make some hits."
