Second Offer for Garner

Lone Star State linebacker Riley Garner updates his recruitment with Scout.com...

Riley Garner, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound linebacker from A&M Consolidated (Texas) High was happy to report that he had added his second offer from Rice.

He picked up the offer during a junior day visit that the Owls hosted this past weekend.

I went to Rice junior day and they offered me," an excited Garner exclaimed in an Email to Scout.com on Sunday. "That was my second offer."

"My recruiting coach is Billy Lynch."

"I really liked coach Darrell Patterson, the LB coach. Coach Baliff and the players seem really close too."

Garner received his first offer from Colorado, a school his hopeful to get a chance and visit soon enough.

Matter of fact, he has that trip on his current schedule.

"I've been offered by CU," Garner reported. "I am going up on April 1 and 2 to watch practice and see if I like Colorado."

Garner is currently rated as a Scout.com three-star prospect, the No. 46 rated outside linebacker nationally.

As a junior in 2013, Garner racked up 110 tackles, 12 sacks and an interception to earn 14-5A First Team All-District honors.

In addition to Rice and Colorado he has also received interest or junior day invites from Kansas State, Oklahoma, SMU, TCU and Texas.
