"It's a great feeling," he said. "I feel as though I have to keep working hard to get more and get to my best, wherever I need to go to get into school for free. I'm really excited right now."
The 5-foot-10, 165-pound Jackson was just down at the school and enjoyed what he saw of the Rocket program.
"I visited there on Friday with Dior Johnson, Davontae Ginwright and Michael King. It was really nice. The coaches were cool, the players were cool, they were talking to us. I knew a couple players that went there from Lathrup about two or three years ago. It was nice overall."
Jackson's name is just beginning to rise thanks to his offseason camp performances. He is hearing from a few other schools and the number of interested parties is expected to rise over the next few months.
He will take a visit with the Chippewas soon.
"I think I'm supposed to be visiting Central Michigan in about two weeks on March 27th."
Jackson reports a 4.44 in the forty yard-dash.
