Tilford will play out the process
Nathan Tilford first caught our eye last summer as an 8th grader playing for BBT, one of the top 7 on 7 teams in the state. He already has a mans body and measured out at a rock solid 6-1, 205 pounds this past weekend in Vegas. "We have a good team and played pretty well," Tilford said over the weekend. "I was playing linebacker and receiver and have no preference right now where I play. I played a lot of running back during the season but honestly, I just want to play, offense or defense, it doesn't matter to me." Tilford is a physical player with a lot of natural ability. He looked good in several games at running back where he showed a rare combination of size, speed and power for a freshman. He's a downhill, north-south runner with a nice burst and has some definite upside to him. On the recruiting front, Tilford has four scholarships on the table and plans to do a handful of summer camps. "USC was my first offer last summer before my freshman year," Tilford said. "Arizona State offered too and then last season I got UCLA and Arizona. I want to camp with USC and UCLA this summer and then try and do visits to Arizona and ASU. "I also want to visit Alabama if I can get out there. Right now, my plan is to keep everything open and go through the process. I gave some thought to an early commitment but I'm going to go through the process. I want to at least wait until my junior year and then I'll see where things are at then. I know so much can change between now and when I can sign so I'm open to everyone right now and just going to enjoy the process."
