RECEIVER ANNOUNCES PREFERRED WALK-ON ROLE: Troy receiver Kyle Whitley took to Twitter this week to announce that he would be receiving preferred walk-on status at Texas A&M.
So excited with the opportunity given to me officially being a preferred walk-on with Texas A&M!???? Can't wait to go to work!— Kyle Whitley (@KWhitley21) March 13, 2014
CORNER TAKING IN SPRING GAMES:Leander cornerback Johnathan Permenter has been hearing from a number of programs, but the 6-foot-1.5, 170-pound prospect is eager to attend Texas Tech spring game in a few weeks. Permenter, who reports a 4.6 forty, has also been receiving heavy interest from UTSA, Houston, and Rice. He'll head to the UTSA Spring Game, as well.
UTSA MAKING WAVES IN CENTEX: It seems that this season, UTSA head coach Larry Coker and his staff have dived even deeper into Central Texas, recruiting under-the-radar prospects who are poised to have big springs. The staff has been busy recruiting Corpus Christi Flour Bluff, Killeen Shoemaker, Leander Cedar Park, Pflugerville Hendrickson, and more. The overall takeaway among many recruits who attended UTSA Junior Day is overwhelmingly positive, and it seems as if the RoadRunners are well on their way to a successful 2015 recruiting class.
