Add Ohio offensive lineman Noah Listermann to the growing list of prospects impressed by the work…
Listermann Recaps Big Weekend
Saturday gave Noah Listermann another chance to connect with the coaching staff and players at one of his early favorites Indiana. "I met the whole offensive line and watching them scrimmage gave me a good feel about Coach (Greg) Frey," said Listermann. "He's had such an impressive career and last year had to play with his third team offensive line and they were still the top offense in the Big Ten which is pretty impressive." Listermann did more than just watch the Hoosiers in action as he also got some quality down time with the offensive line. "I got a chance to eat lunch with the offensive line and some of the parents," he said. "We all hung out and it was real cool. I also got a chance to talk with Coach (Ryan) Stanchek and he's from Cincinnati. So we talked some crap because he played at La Salle and we play them this season. So we were going back and forth about it and having some fun." While Saturday was a day to reconnect, Sunday was a day to learn about the seriousness Cincinnati has in his abilities. "Cincinnati was the first school to offer me," explained Listermann. "Watching them scrimmage was good as I had a chance to really meet some of the guys and got to know the coaches a lot more. I'm really happy about that because I had never really had a chance to meet them and I kind of felt like they offered me, but was just throwing it out there. But now I see they really want me there and that is good." What did the players he talked about say about their experience as Bearcats? "They all said they really like it with the new staff and that they were glad they are there," he said. "They said they really like how they do the weight training and the nutrition program. Most of them are also close to home and since I'm close to UC as well, it was nice to hear other guy's opinions as compared to going far away from home. "As I now start looking to narrow things down with my choices, it got me thinking as I was talking with my mom. It's just been me and her for so long, so I know that I wouldn't be able to see her every day. So it will play a huge factor on where I end up going." While impressed with his personal contact with the Bearcats, Listermann also liked what he saw on the field. "They go hard," he said. "They are probably the hardest hitting practice team I've seen so far. They were really going at it. I know one of their running backs (E.J. Junior) and he was like third team. But he was doing really well and that was great to see." From the sound of it, both teams have opened taken positive steps forward with one of Ohio's top prospects in the 2015 recruiting class. "I want to get to know UC a lot more," stressed Listermann. "I really like Indiana and have always felt comfortable there as I just clicked with the players there."
