2015 Texas Prospect Names Top Schools

2015 WR John Humphrey

For the second consecutive night, a 2015 prospect from Texas released his list of top schools. Scout.com has more on League City (Texas) Clear Falls athlete John Humphrey.

McKinney (Texas) North four-star running back Ronald Jones released his top eight via Twitter on Monday night. Twenty-four hours later, Clear Falls three-star athlete John Humphrey released a list of top schools heading up his options, of which he has more than a dozen.

Humphrey issued a top seven list that included, in no particular order, Notre Dame, Baylor, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Missouri, and TCU.

The 6-foot, 165-pound Humphrey has been recruited at multiple positions. He will likely wind up at receiver or cornerback depending on the program that lands him, although Scout.com rates him as a receiver and No. 64 at that position in the country's 2015 class

BearsIllustrated.com reported Monday that he would likely play defense for the Bears, while IrishEyes.com said in late February that Humphrey had been told by Notre Dame that he could pick which side of the ball he wanted to play.

Notre Dame has gotten two Texas 2015 commitments since Thursday: Dallas South Oak Cliff three-star safety Prentice McKinney and Allen three-star receiver Jalen Guyton. Baylor picked up a commitment Saturday from 2015 four-star running back JaMycal Hasty from Longview.

Humphrey had a big junior year this past fall, catching 66 passes for 816 yards and five touchdowns. Humphrey led his team in all three categories.

Humphrey's father, John Sr., signed with Mississippi State and finished his college career at Texas A&I, now called Texas A&M-Kingsville.

Check back with Scout.com as Humphrey's recruitment progresses throughout the spring and summer.
