DeSOTO, Texas -- More than 300 competitors converged on DeSoto High School on Saturday for the…
Three-star wide receiver James Proche (Dallas/Prime Prep) was one of the best receivers at the camp. Had it not been for five-star DaMarkus Lodge (Cedar Hill, Texas/Cedar Hill), he would have likely been the WR MVP. His talent doesn't portray his offers list – Colorado State, Houston, SMU, TCU, and Tulsa (not schools, but number of offers) – but it could soon. He's expecting the likes of Alabama, LSU, Penn State and most all of the Big 12 schools to visit him this spring. He was going to try and make it to TCU today but didn't think he'd be able to after the camp.
Speaking of Lodge, the Scout.com five-star who took home WR MVP honors also wanted to clear the record about his current list of schools. At this point in the process he has no set favorites. He did mention a recent article that stated LSU, Ole Miss and Clemson had risen to the top, but he said that those are the three schools recruiting him the most feverishly. He is high on all three programs, but wants to wait to narrow his list just before the start of the season and would like to have a final decision sometime after the season or before the playoffs.
Arlington (Texas) Bowie 2015 offensive tackle Madison Akamnonu has nine offers already in, but is also hearing a lot from some other major programs. He says majors like Arkansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Arizona State and Texas are recruiting him. Bowie head coach Danny DeArman said Arkansas and Oklahoma are close to pulling the trigger and offering.
Semaj Thomas, a TCU commit from Fort Worth has picked up an offer from Oklahoma recently.
