It had only been a direct message or two through Twitter between Brown and Hardman, so the news he received Monday was definitely unexpected.
"It was a surprise, a big surprise when I got the offer from Wisconsin today," said Hardman. "Coach Brown had hit me up once on Twitter recently, but I had not received a letter from them, or anything, so I did not expect an offer."
Hardman saw the offer as a "blessing" and he is thankful for it.
"It is a big relief to have my first offer. I am really blessed right now and it feels great right now."
The 5-foot-11, 170 pound sophomore does not know much about the Badgers yet, the them being first to offer definitely puts them on his mind.
"I kind of know what Coach Brown has told me about them so far," said Hardman. "He has talked to me about their academics, how strong they are, so that is big to me. I am now going to start talking to him once a week and learn more.
"With Wisconsin being first to offer, I have interest in them now. I will never forget my first offer, so this means a lot. It tells me that they see something in me nobody else has seen yet."
After being recognized as a top 10 performer at the Atlanta MVP Camp Sunday, Hardman picks up his first offer. It has been a very good last couple of days for the 2016 athlete.
Wisconsin offered Hardman as a cornerback, but also mentioned to him the possibility to return kicks and punts.
