Mykel Jones has Longhorns in top five

One of the top 2016 high school football players in America decided to visit Austin this past weekend as Texas held their annual spring game. Mykel Jones checks in from Patterson (LA)

Mykel Jones is a 6-foot, 185-pound wide out/defensive back from Patterson high school. The four star standout holds offers from some of the top football programs in the country such as Alabama, Florida State, LSU, Penn State, Texas and UCLA to name a few. This past weekend Jones was able to visit Austin to check out the Longhorns.

"The spring game was great," Mykel Jones said. "The team looked good and they have room to get even better which Coach [Charlie] Strong will do. I spent a lot of time with coach Strong and he was great, showing us good hospitality. Like I said I talked to coach Strong and coach [Chris] Vaughn and they all loved me and said they need athletes like me to help get the program to that next level."

Jones had a great time in Austin by all accounts but one thing stood above the rest for the four-star wide receiver from Louisiana.

"The best part of the trip was spending time with coach Strong and they are definitely in my top five as of now," Jones said.
