Recently, he visited two schools. First, was East Carolina.
"It was pretty nice," Daniel said. "All the coaches are genuine guys and they want what's best for you. It's a great program over all.
"The thing that stood out to me while I was there was the compassion the coaches have for the game and the compassion they have for their players."
Last weekend, Daniel took a trip to Alabama for their spring game.
"The visit was great," he said. "It was fun to get back down to Tuscaloosa and experience a game-day atmosphere.
"My conversations with the coaches weren't very lengthy because they had to focus on the game. But of course I got to speak to coach (Nick) Saban and (linebackers) coach (Kevin) Steele, and they told me how highly they thought of me and basically made sure I knew I was still wanted there."
He will head to Wake Forest this weekend.
In regards to summer, Daniel has a few trips in mind.
"Off the top of my head, I know I'm going to camps at Wake Forest, Ohio State, Clemson and Alabama," he said.
He has a timeline for his decision.
"I'll probably narrow my list of schools down in late June or early July," Daniel said. "The original date I picked out to make my commitment was July 28, which is my birthday. If I don't do it then, it will be no more than a month later.
Daniel claims no favorites at this time.
Last season, Daniel finished with 85 tackles, 42 tackles for loss, 13 sacks and an interception.
