Simon Looking For First Offer

Simon Looking For First Offer

Even though he battled injuries as a junior, Canton GlenOak tailback Jason Simon still put up big numbers and is one of the top power runners in Ohio for the class of 2015. Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are schools showing the most interest currently.

Canton GlenOak has a history of producing Division-I talent in Ohio, and this year should see tailback Jason Simon added to that list.

Simon, 6-foot-1, 210-pounds, battled injuries last season as a junior, but still showed the talent that has college programs showing interest.

"Pittsburgh and Cincinnati have been at the school this week, and I'm getting very comfortable with the both staffs," Simon stated. "Cincinnati wants me to stay in touch with them, and Coach (Steve) Clinkscale told me to follow him on Twitter. They also want me to come to camp, and I'm planning on doing that."

Pittsburgh has remained in touch with Simon since he visited the school last fall, and that relationship is getting closer.

"I really like Pitt a lot, and I'm hoping to get that offer from them," he admitted. "After being there for a game I really have Pitt high up there for me. They also want me to come to camp, and I plan on doing that."

Simon is doing everything off the field needed to make him a top recruit for the class of 2015.

"My grades have gotten much better this year, and I just took the ACT for the first time," he explained. "I'm on the right track academically and will be fully qualified. I've also added weight and I'm up to 210-pounds now, but I still have my speed."

"To get offers, I knew I needed to get things done in the classroom and prove that I can be a leader on the field also," Simon stressed. "I'm in great shape and looking forward to having a big senior season."
