Williams Looking Good

Merced (Calif.) quarterback Tyrone Williams (6-4, 202), was one of the better quarterbacks we saw at the Elite 11 in San Francisco last year, especially from the underclassmen.

Last weekend, he looked good again at the Passing Down Best of the West, just a couple weeks after he helped Team SWAG qualify for Best of the West.

"Things have really picked up since the first Passing Down," said Williams. "I've gotten more interest from Eastern Washington and Arizona."

Williams said that schools have told him they want to see him throw this spring.

"San Jose State, Fresno State and Arizona coaches have all said they want to watch me work out," said Williams.

Arizona has his attention.

"I love that offense," said Williams. "I love that school too. We've adapted Arizona's offense at my high school. We run spread, no huddle and they run the spread too. They've invited me to their camp too."

Williams thinks Eastern Washington could be close to offering too.

"I may camp at Eastern Washington too," said Williams.

Academically, Williams has a 3.17 and will take the SAT and ACT next month.
